The why
We believe now is the perfect time to refresh your home. Spring has sprung, the weather is warming up, so why not add a splash of colour to your exterior? By adding coloured uPVC windows you are also adding extra curb appeal to your home, should you decide to sell or rent. If you are bold with your colour choice they really can turn your house into an eye-catching home, and you can choose from a kaleidoscope of colours to suit you perfectly!
The process
Before the paint of your choice is applied to your uPVC windows, all surfaces undergo preparation. The surface is ‘keyed’, meaning all gloss and sheen is removed, allowing the paint to adhere to the surface much better. Once this has been done, the frame is cleaned with a special preparation treatment, developed by our manufacturer exclusively for this purpose. By ensuring all surfaces are degreased and clean, it offers the best chance of long-lasting colour and protection. Next up is the masking process if only part of the window is going to be painted. For example, you may wish to have a colourful exterior, but remain white or even have a contrasting colour on the interior. The choice is all yours when installing our bespoke painted uPVC windows. Our expert paint technician will then spray your windows in our on-site spray booth at the factory showroom in Redruth. The specially developed, high-quality paint chemically binds itself to the uPVC, giving excellent resistance to scratching, fading and weathering, ideal for the ever-changing conditions here in Cornwall. Once sprayed, your coloured uPVC windows are then ‘oven-baked’ and left to cure. After a final coat of protective lacquer, they are ready to be installed in your home. with a ten-year guarantee!
