What types of conservatories do you offer?

As we manufacture ourselves at our factory in Redruth, we can offer fully bespoke designs, so in short, as long as the design permits, we can do anything. This includes orangeries, gable-end, lean-to, hipped roof conservatories and garden rooms. You can choose from a fully glazed heat reflective solar glass design, to a lantern on a solid roof, or even a fully solid roof. Each design can be customized to suit your home’s style, and we help ensure it enhances your living space and provides energy efficiency while bringing natural light into your home.

Can you handle the whole conservatory project?

Absolutely, with our team of expert sales designers, surveyors, fabricators, masons and installers we can take your project from initial concept through to completed project.

What’s the difference between standard casement and flush sash windows?

The sash of a standard casement has a chamfered lip that overhangs the frame and creates a stormproof seal. With flush sash, as the name suggests, the sash sits flush within the frame giving a more minimalistic appearance. Some feel it looks sleek and modern, whilst others believe it looks similar to traditional timber casement windows The system we are using has been newly developed with a double rebate to provide excellent weatherproofing. Both standard casement and flush sash can be hinged at the top or the side.

Do your windows come with energy-efficient options?

Yes, all of our windows come with high-spec energy-efficient double glazing as standard. The quality of the glass is key to reducing heat loss by providing better insulation, which in turn lowers energy bills and reduces outside noise. We offer various glazing options to meet your specific needs, helping to create a more comfortable and sustainable living environment.

What about colour?

Gone are the days of all white windows! We offer a range of ‘off the shelf’ coloured uPVC, but should you wish, with our in house paint booth, any colour is available. If you provide a sample, we can colour match to your favourite shade. Aluminium is available in any RAL colour.

What materials can I choose from for my doors?

Our residential doors come in uPVC, steel, aluminium, and timber, giving you flexibility in both style and finish. Whichever material you choose, security is paramount and all of our doors come with multipoint locking systems. Whether you’re looking for front doors, bi-folding doors, French doors, sliding patio doors or even a pivot door, you can select a design that best fits your home’s aesthetic and performance needs.

Do you provide an installation service?

Yes, we handle the full installation process for all our products, including windows, doors, conservatories, and more. Our expert installers ensure that your project is completed to the highest standards, providing a seamless and hassle-free experience. We aim to deliver not just quality products, but also professional and efficient service.

What happens with old doors and windows?

Nearly everything is recycled. During an installation, we remove all the waste items (unless requested otherwise), old doors and windows are stripped down to their component parts for recycling, we separate out glass, uPVC and metal and recycle all of it. Our uPVC profile is made of up to 80% recycled content and can be recycled up to ten times. When you consider the lifespan of our windows is 30+ years, this makes our uPVC windows and doors a sustainable choice.

Do you offer a warranty on your products?

We provide a 10-year guarantee on all of our uPVC products and five years on our aluminium and timber products. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship, giving you peace of mind. Our goal is to ensure long-lasting performance and durability, whether you’re investing in windows, doors, or a new conservatory. You can expect your product to far outlive their guarantee period, in some cases we have returning customers who are replacing windows installed by Philip Whear 35 years ago!

Having been around for nearly 40 years, it’s our genuine after-sales service that really sets us apart from our competitors.

What is the lead time for installations?

Lead times vary depending on the size and complexity of your project, as well as the materials chosen. We provide a detailed timeline during the consultation phase, so you know what to expect. We strive to complete installations efficiently while ensuring quality craftsmanship in every aspect of the project.

Do you provide services for commercial projects?

Yes, we offer bespoke solutions for both residential and commercial projects.
