Maintenance of Products
All uPVC and Aluminium components
These can be cleaned with soapy water and rinsed (typically every three months, more often if very close to a road). Bird droppings should be removed as soon as possible. Only use cream cleaner on standard smooth white uPVC once a year, after a thorough clean. It is a good idea to polish the frames/components with a car polish.
Handles
Care should be taken to avoid damage from keys and finger rings.
Hardware
‘3-IN-ONE’ oil or similar should be used at approximately six month intervals.
Timber
Timber exposed to the elements must be cleaned and refinished on a regular basis. This will vary considerably dependent upon the exposure to the elements, uv in particular, 2 – 3 years being typical or as soon as any deterioration in the applied finish becomes noticeable.
Glass Soapy water or a proprietary glass cleaner should be used as often as necessary. Avoid all abrasives, particularly on ‘self-cleaning’ glass.
NB. Patination.
All of our products ‘age’, with the arguable exception of glass. No products will look identical at the end of the guarantee period to the day they were fitted, but will be very acceptable if the appropriate maintenance is carried out.
